JIL WONG - LITERARY CRITIC

Originally from Hamden, CT, Richard began his career doing Special Effects for a series of Showtime Specials; some of which he also acted in and wrote the music for. In 1985 he began writing for television, having almost 50 scripts produced before moving on to print writing. He authored two books, wrote copy for ALF and In Living Color merchandising and served as Managing Editor, Writer, and Columnist for various magazines and now, for us.

Nicholas grew up on the mean streets of the Midwood section of Brooklyn, NY. By 15 years old, he was already no stranger to the New York Justice System. While serving his time, Nicholas discovered writing and it turned his life around, for the most part. He has served as Entertainment Writer for the Midwood Journal-Courier, the Siracuse Post, Reel Imagery Periodical Corp, and Video Retail Monthly Magazine. He also owns and operates a Loan Consulting Firm.

Jil is a native of Culver City, CA, having lived, almost all of her life, about a block and a half away from the 8660 Hayden Place Studio, where "Jason Goes To Hell: The Final Friday" (1993), "Lord Of Illusions" (1995) and the NBC hit television series, "ALF" (1986-1990) were shot. She has been an avid reader since childhood - particularly books on Horror Writers, Directors, Actors and classic movie production. During her college years she wrote for The Blue Monitor, out of Chicago.

Born in Norfolk, VA, transplanted to California early on, Rick fell in love with film, television and comics. Making short films throughout high school, he directed Hard Edge in 1993; a s.o.v. John Woo homage. He has reviewed futuristic cinema for the popular Bay Area, Cyberpunk Magazine, written for Mondo Cult Magazine, married his muse and raised their kids. He recently appeared on the Married2Horror and Land Of The Creeps podcasts and is currently writing Cut Down The Middle, a giallo/found footage script he hopes to direct.

Michael is a South Floridian who, when he isn't hanging out on South Beach, is writing movie reviews for the Miami Sun-Sentinel and the Palm Beach Herald. He caught the horror bug after repeat viewings of Dr. Giggles on the VCR his parents bought for his 13th birthday. From that point on, he spent every dime he made, from his paper route, on genre movies. He considers writing about movies, as a profession, to be a full-circle event and retaining his anonymity, a priority.

Born and raised in Virginia Beach now a current resident of the biggest little city Reno, NV. Melissa is a lover of all things pop culture especially horror movies and gaming. She’s been playing video games since the days of Atari. Her games of choice are in the fantasy and survival horror genre. Resident Evil being one of her all time favorite gaming series. When she’s not gaming she’s spending time with her family and friends or delving into a new crafty project.

Check back, from time to time, to see who our latest Guest Columnist is. You might just be surprised.

The MonsterKid Central Guest Columnist

Born to a quirky, but foxy lady on a balmy night in Virginia, Cale (Cal-ee) was soon whisked away to grow up a child of the world. Absorbing all possible forms of entertainment she encountered, Cale ended up cultivating a deep love for anything fantasy related. Ever since then, she's been devouring books, games and video media. Nowadays, in between parenting, writing, gaming, audio podcasting, dungeon mastering and (hesitantly) watching the horror movies her husband shares with her, Cale enjoys napping.
